Miller Park: An Evening of History

March 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Miller Park
Established in 1887, Miller Park speaks to both the triumphs and travails of Bloomington and the wider community. The municipal park and its landscaped grounds offered working class families recreation and contemplation, but its beaches were racially segregated into the 1950s.
The Museum’s Librarian, Bill Kemp, will lead an illustrated program on Tuesday, March 18 at 6:00 p.m. on Miller Park’s rich natural, social, political, and architectural history. Bill will also talk about the many well-known and not-so-well-known monuments, buildings, and natural features that dot the park’s grounds. This free public program will be held in-person at the McLean County Museum of History, located at 200 N. Main Street in Bloomington, in the second second floor courtroom and live-streamed via youtube.com/mchistorymuseum.
