Lawndale Route 66 Festival/Chicago’s Historic Route 66 Classic Car Show

The Lawndale Route 66 Festival is led by Chicago’s Historic Route 66 Classic Car Show. After 12 successful years, this beloved tradition has grown into something even bigger: the second annual Lawndale Route 66 Festival — presented in partnership with eight incredible community organizations:
Chicago’s Historic Route 66 Classic Car & Bike Show
Lawndale Christian Community Church
The Firehouse Community Arts Center
The 24th Ward Aldermanic Office
Principals Barber Shop
The Young Dr’s Club
The American Red Cross
Youth Boxing Club of Chicago
Boxing Out Negativity
Together, we’ve honored the legacy of Historic Route 66 as it winds through Chicago’s North Lawndale community — a neighborhood defined by culture, resilience, and pride.
What began in 2008 with just 200 cars and 1,200 attendees has grown into a vibrant, citywide celebration welcoming over 10,000 guests in 2025, powered by more than 80 dedicated volunteers. As we prepare for the 100th Anniversary of Route 66 in 2026, we’re planning a once-in-a-century celebration — and we would be honored to have Lerner & Rowe Injury and Car Accident Attorneys join us as a key partner in this historic event.
This festival is more than a car and bike show — it’s a powerful community gathering that brings together families, youth, car enthusiasts, artists, and small businesses. It showcases the very best of North Lawndale, promoting local pride and unity.
At its core, the Lawndale Route 66 Festival strives to:
Promote pride and positive visibility for North Lawndale
Provide safe, family-friendly spaces that engage youth and help reduce violence
Connect residents with resources and opportunities
Celebrate the cultural legacy of Historic Route 66 in Chicago
Support and showcase local small businesses, vendors, and artists
