Bringuet receives the 2020 Wally Henderson Lifetime Achievement Award from DSI

Downtown Springfield, Inc. (DSI) held their Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony, “DSI & Chill,” virtually this year on Jan 21st, 2021. Dennis Bringuet, of Ace Sign Company and an advisor to the Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway board, received the 2020 Wally Henderson Lifetime Achievement Award from DSI.

Wally Henderson’s architecture firm helped restore and expand the Old State Capitol. The project was known for how meticulous in which it was completed. Henderson passed away in 2016. This year’s DSI Annual Dinner was held online due to the Coronavirus. The program was produced by Crowdson Creative of Springfield, and can be viewed on YouTube at

Dennis Bringuet is the recently retired president of Ace Sign Co. (including the Ace Sign Company Museum) and one of the founding members of Downtown Springfield Inc.’s board of directors. Ace Sign Company has worked on numerous Route 66 signage projects in Springfield, including the World Record Motorhead’s Route 66 Shield, the Sonrise Donuts sign restoration and the Bel Aire Sputnik restoration. Ace Sign has also restored the Tropics Sign in Lincoln and developed the new neon sign for Carlinville Plaza.
