Abe’s Haunted Hollow at ALPLM

SPRINGFIELD – Spooky fun takes center stage at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum on Saturday, Oct. 25, when the museum transforms into Abe’s Haunted Hollow, a Halloween wonderland filled with free games, music, and costumes for all ages.
Guests can explore exhibits “haunted” by creepy characters, experience spooky lighting and special effects, walk through a giant pumpkin, and even join a séance with Mrs. Lincoln herself.
The event also includes crafts and games, fun prizes, a DJ playing frightfully good music and an eerie selfie station. Refreshments will be available, and the museum gift shop will be open throughout the event.
The museum will be open for regular daytime visits from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 25th, with last admission and ticket sales ending at 2 p.m. After a brief intermission, the doors reopen from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. for Abe’s Haunted Hollow.
The first 500 children receive a free gift bag that includes a light-up Halloween wand! The festivities wrap up just in time for the downtown Springfield Halloween Parade at 6:30 p.m., which passes right by the ALPLM.
Admission is free, and no advance registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For safety reasons, adults in costume are asked not to wear masks or hoods inside the museum.
The mission of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is to inspire civic engagement through the diverse lens of Illinois history and share with the world the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln. We pursue this mission through a combination of rigorous scholarship and high-tech showmanship built on the bedrock of the ALPLM’s unparalleled collection of historical materials – roughly 13 million items from all eras of Illinois history.
