After more than 16 years bringing visitors to Pontiac, Ellie Alexander has announced her retirement as the City of Pontiac’s Tourism Director. “It’s a bittersweet moment for me. I treasure all the people I’ve met and memories I’ve made in this position. While I’m looking forward to the new adventures retirement brings, apiece of my heart will always be in Pontiac.”

Ellie’s last day in the office will be Tuesday, September 7, but she assures us all she will be a frequent visitor.

Liz Vincent has been named as the new Director of Tourism. Liz has worked for the department for 8 years. In that time she oversaw the renovations and opening of the Eagle Performing Arts and Conference Center as the Facility Manager, created the Rockin’ at the River concert series, has overseen several exhibit and museum installations, and has been involved with countless other community projects. “Ellie is leaving behind some big shoes to fill, but I feel privileged to have worked with her for the last 8 years. I’m so excited for this opportunity and can’t wait to see what the future brings.”
