CELEBRATE WITH A BANG!!! It is the week of Independence Day and Litchfield, Illinois is inviting you to celebrate with them! Litchfield will have an array of activities on July 3 and July 4th, so make your plans now and invite your friends!

Lake Lou Yaeger

Kick off the weekend on Saturday, July 3 with the 5K Freedom Fun Run / Walk 2021. This family friendly event kicks off at 7:30AM at Lake Lou Yaeger’s Picnic Area 3. This down and back course traverses the grounds of Lake Lou Yaeger Recreational Area. Participants are invited to run or walk. On Sunday, July 4th, Vince Martin will be performing a live concert by the water at Marina 1 near Milnot Beach House (4932 Beach House Trail) from 7 PM – 9:20 PM. Vince Martin is one of the finest world-traveled Vocalist/Guitarist and Entertainers in the business. Out of St. Louis, MO, Martin has the vocal characteristics of George Benson, Al Jarreau, and Elvis Presley and the instrumental prowess of Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana and Albert King. Martin has opened shows for Barry White, Gladys Knight and the Pips, War, saxophonist Grover Washington, Jr., Kiss, the Allman Bros. Band and more! Martin performs all styles and genres of music and holds true to the philosophy that all good music belongs to all good humankind. This concert is free for all participants. Immediately after the concert by the water, Fireworks will launch over Marina 1 at 9:30 PM. Visitors are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets to watch the show. Boaters can watch the fireworks from the water if they purchase an annual or daily boat permit. Permits can be purchased from the Marina 1 store located at (4943 Beach House Trail).
