Lucky Chucky Tour: Life Inside Old Joliet Prison
May 25 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Charles “Lucky Chucky” Hojnacki was once incarcerated at Old Joliet Prison. Like many who were once incarcerated, Hojnacki worked hard to turn his life following a youth defined by gang activity, arrests and incarceration. Following a near-death experience in drug deal gone bad, he vowed not only to never return to prison, but to keep others from returning.
Following his own educational path to become a certified machinist, Hojnacki began encouraging others – especially young offenders – to break their own cycles by embarking on GED courses and vocational training. As a result of his efforts to assist fellow incarcerated individuals with employment opportunities, he received an Individual Achievement Award from the State of Illinois.
