The latest round of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Backing Historic Small Restaurants Grant (in partnership with American Express) is now live! Grants are for $50,000 and can be used for a variety of needs.
Not only can restaurants apply directly, but YOU can nominate your favorite Route 66 restaurants! Strong community support is a key ingredient to ensuring historic restaurants continue serving for years to come.
Together with American Express, the National Trust is once again supporting 50 small or independently owned restaurants across the country through the Backing Historic Small Restaurants grant program!
Now in its fifth year, the grant program provides 50 restaurants with $50,000 each to help them improve their businesses and positively impact their communities.
This critical financial support helps small restaurants that have been disproportionately impacted by economic challenges, disasters, or other hardships.
But we need your help! Let us know the cozy cafes, delicious dives, and excellent eateries that contribute to your neighborhood’s unique history.
We’re accepting public nominations from restaurant enthusiasts as well as formal grant applications from restaurant owners.
Grant applications and public nominations will be accepted until 11 :59 PM ET on May 30, 2025.
