Madison, IL (April 25, 2025) – World Wide Technology Raceway is thrilled to announce Route 66 Motorheads Bar and Grill as its Official Central Illinois Racing Destination. Located just just over an hour north of WWT Raceway in Springfield, Illinois, Motorheads is more than just a restaurant – it’s a bar, grill, museum and entertainment complex that hosts a variety of events perfect for car enthusiasts.

Route 66 Motorheads isn’t just a restaurant with great food. Throughout the complex, guests can view their historic automobile and Route 66 memorabilia. In a city rich with history and full of automobile enthusiasts, Motorheads brings together some of the best aspects of Springfield’s culture into one establishment.

Throughout the year, Motorheads serves as the site for numerous Cool Cruisers Cruise-Ins, which draws in hundreds of vehicles from all over. With both establishments serving as racing destinations along “America’s Main Street,” WWT Raceway will attend several of these cruise-ins to giveaway free merchandise and host ticket raffles for INDYCAR, NASCAR and NHRA.

WWT Raceway draws in fans from over 46 states and 20 countries during marquee events like the 2024 Enjoy Illinois 300 NASCAR Cup Series race. If you’re traveling along Route 66, make sure to stop at Motorheads before heading to WWT Raceway.

Alongside the NASCAR Cup Series coming back to the Madison based track for the second race in the Round of 16 Playoffs on Sept. 7, for the first time in 15 years, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will return to WWT Raceway. 2024 Xfinity Series driver and Riverton native Justin Allgaier will compete at the 1.25-mile oval on Sept. 6, under the lights at the 1.25-mile oval.

With racing and automobiles at the heart of both establishments, WWT Raceway is excited to continue partnering with the Route 66 complex throughout the year. Stay tuned to both the track’s and Route 66 Motorheads’ socials for more information about upcoming events.
