City of Litchfield Announces StangArts is Preparing a Downtown Welcome Mural

Illinois Route 66 Scenic Byway

Sometimes it is the small things we do in life, like plant a seed or idea. Nurture it and watch the
idea grow. The Litchfield Tourism Office is growing the arts within the community.

The City of Litchfield is excited to announce that StangArts is in the process of painting a mural
that will welcome tourist downtown when they come to visit Litchfield. The work includes wall
prep, mural applications and protection seal with weather seal application. The continuous
landscape will feature a sunset and agricultural scene that will show a spring planting on the
east side of State Street and a full harvest on the west side of State Street, located at 223 and
226 N. State Street. The project should be completed by the end of the summer. Funds for the
project were donated by Walmart, the Big Dawg Dare and other donors.

Jamie Stang is an artist from Effingham. In addition to painting murals, canvas, and other items,
she also teaches art classes. Jamie will be our guest at the Tourism booth at our upcoming
Pickers Market.
