Route History Virtual Reality Experience Comes to Bloomington

The Bloomington-Normal Black History Project in partnership with Route History of Springfield will present to the community a Virtual Reality experience that tours historical African American sites and shares stories of the past along Route 66.
During the virtual experience, visitors will learn about Black people, businesses, and events along Route 66 in the cities of Chicago, Bloomington, Springfield, Brooklyn and East St. Louis during the Jim Crow and Civil Rights eras.
There will be a brief presentation to start the tour and a light lunch served at the church for participants in the virtual tour.

The event is FREE and is being made available by a grant associated with the Route History Museum in Springfield, Illinois.
