2024 Springfield Oyster and Beer Festival (SOB Festival)
August 31, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
On Saturday, Aug. 31, the Springfield Oyster and Beer Festival, comically known as the SOB Fest, returns for its 14th year. This year is on pace for record attendance and record brewery participation with over 60 breweries confirmed, including 19 that are new to the festival. In 2024, the Springfield Oyster and Beer Festival is poised to become the largest downstate craft beer festival in Illinois.
The event features 6,000 Blue Point oysters from Chesapeake Bay, three local food trucks and live music from Me, Myself, and Schy and the Aileana Rawlins Band. New this year are a Best Beer voting contest, an appearance by the festival mascot, Shucky the Oyster, and a free photobooth.
The Legacy Theatre has been selected as the charity recipient for this year. To date, the festival has raised over $170,000 given to local charity organizations in Springfield and Sangamon County.
VIP tickets have once again sold out early. General Admission tickets are available online at SOBFESTIVAL.COM and at the gate on the day of the event.
The 2024 SOB Festival will be held at the Inn at 835 in Downtown Springfield on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend from 12-5pm. It will be held rain or shine, because attendees will be covered by the two 100′ tents we’ve secured. Over 150 beers and ciders from over 50 breweries will be represented from across the Midwest and nationally.
Musical acts will keep you moving as you enjoy new and unique fine craft libations. Gourmet oyster dishes as well as food trucks to keep your belly happy while your taste buds are entertained by delicious brews.
To date, the SOB Festival has donated over $130,000 to area charities. Last year’s charity recipient was the Ronald McDonald House of Central Illinois.
