Bloomington’s first plots sold at auction on July 4, 1831. Today the Twin Cities of Bloomington and Normal have over 130,000 residents in one of the most prosperous communities in Illinois. State Farm Insurance National Headquarters are located there as well as Beer Nuts Brand Snacks, a national snack company.

David Davis Mansion Historic Site

In 2015, the Cruisin’ on Route 66 with Abraham Lincoln themed visitor center opened in the first floor of the McLean County Museum of History. Since opening, Bloomington Normal has seen a surge in tourism, sharing their Route 66 and Abraham Lincoln history with visitors from around the country and the world.
