Ogden Avenue is Berwyn’s stretch of Historic Route 66 – the Mother Road – designed for automobiles when the car was king of American culture. Today Route 66 is celebrated at the annual Berwyn Route 66 Car Show, at local haunts like Cigars & Stripes BBQ Lounge and Paisan's Pizzeria & Bar or just around the corner with live music at Harlem Avenue Lounge.

The annual Berwyn Car Show is widely considered to be the best Route 66 event in the state. The event is held on the last Saturday of August. The gravesite of Al Capone is located 13 miles northwest of Berwyn, and is a popular side trip.
