Litchfield Pickers Market Launches Seventh Season
May 8 @ 9:00 am - October 9 @ 3:00 pm
The grand re-opening of the Litchfield Pickers Market is FINALLY here! In conjunction with Mother’s Day, the Litchfield Pickers Market will re-open for 2022 at 9 AM on Sunday, May 8th. This portable vintage and antique market will be open from 9 AM – 3 PM in Downtown Litchfield (use 400 N. State Street for your GPS). Bring out the motherly figure in your life to celebrate with an afternoon of reminiscing, shopping, and making new memories.
The Litchfield Pickers Market is the largest open-air pickers market in the area and is located less than 3 miles off of Interstate 55. This market specializes in antiques, collectibles, vintage items, and refurbished items. The opening of the May 9th market celebrates the launching of the sixth season after a one-year hiatus.
Each month the Litchfield Pickers Market welcomes musicians to perform at the Carnegie Park stage. During the May 8th market, Avery Kern will kick off the day and perform live from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by Downstate from Noon to 3 PM. You are sure to enjoy these two acts, so make sure to bring your lawn chair or picnic blanket!
This year, the Litchfield Pickers Market will be following the CDC Guidelines which have been relaxed for outdoor markets from last year. Please follow safe social distancing practices of six feet or more for all individuals you encounter, this includes other visitors, vendors, volunteers, and employees. To aid in public sanitation efforts, everyone will be asked to directly dispose of their own trash into provided dumpsters located on block of the market. Music will still be held in the park, but visitors will be asked to bring their own seating as only a limited amount of picnic tables will be set out to avoid the frequently touched surfaces. The City of Litchfield will be following the guidelines set forth by the CDC and will adapted them as deemed necessary throughout the year. The Litchfield Pickers Market is appreciative of the public’s understanding and cooperation in implementing these changes. The Litchfield Tourism Office and Prairie Pickers are excited to bring this event back to the public.
Additionally, to make the most of your Pickers Market experience, it is recommended to bring totes, wagons, carts, pick-up trucks, and anything that will help haul all the great treasures you will find at the Litchfield Pickers Market. There is no cost to enter the market. With multiple entry points, visitors can park around the perimeter and enter the market (just be sure to adhere to applicable parking signage).
Remember, animals are not permitted at the Litchfield Pickers Market. While you are exploring the market, please check out the exclusive 2022 Litchfield Pickers Market t-shirt found at the Litchfield Tourism Information Booth in front of the flagpole in the park! At this booth, volunteers can supply you with Litchfield information, answer questions about the market and the City of Litchfield. Food will be available along State Street located at every intersection. Food vendors and their locations are listed at the Tourism Information booth as well as on the Litchfield Pickers website:
