Plant by Numbers: Simple Plans, Beautiful Spaces for Pollinators
April 6 @ 10:00 am - June 13 @ 4:00 pm
This ongoing program at Isle a la Cache Museum runs from Tuesday, April 6, to Sunday, June 13. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. The visitor center is closed Mondays.
If you’ve ever wanted to put an attractive, pollinator-friendly garden or landscape in your yard, this is the year, and now is the time to get planting! Plant by Numbers is an initiative inspired by those fun (and easy) paint-by-numbers activities we enjoyed as kids. Pick up some ideas on how to create a beautiful garden of your own with low-maintenance plans and plants.
Visit Isle a la Cache Preserve to get inspired by the terraced pollinator garden and the museum landscaping. The emerging plants will be labeled so you can correlate them to some of the mature plants and flowers in the easy-to-use color planting templates and guides available at Isle a la Cache Museum during regular museum hours.
Plant by Numbers was created and shared by the Lexington, Kentucky, Department of Environmental Services.
No registration required. Free Admission. Please note: Masks are required for all in-person, indoor and outdoor program participants, with the exception of those younger than 2 years old and those with a medical condition or disability that prevents them from wearing one, per state guidelines.
The pollinator garden is viewable during regular preserve hours (8 a.m.-sunset) and is accessible via a paved trail over uneven terrain. Isle a la Cache Museum is an accessible facility. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
