Illinois Monarch Project’s Wings of Dreams BioBlitz 2023

It’s time for the Illinois Monarch Project’s second annual Wings of Dreams BioBlitz! The Illinois Monarch Project’s Community Engagement Committee is preparing to roll out the summer engagement BioBlitz campaign for Pollinator Week in June (June 19 – 25). We believe in Illinois and by working together we can save our state symbol.

Once again, the IMP joins with Brookfield Zoo’s Communities & Nature program, to present the 2nd annual Wings of Dreams BioBlitz.

Collaborating with other monarch conservationists is a great way to share your passion and
support participation in monarch-related community science efforts.

The Wings of Dreams BioBlitz will be a competitive species count between participating members and overall against other individuals, families and organizations across Illinois. Starting May 6th, individuals, families and organizations of Illinois will register to enter the event. June 19th through 25th, individuals, families and organizations enter observations by posting directly to the IMP Bioblitz 2023 iNaturalist page. Participants are eligible for a chance to win one of three coveted awards including most observations, most species, most observed species.

BioBlitz is a useful tool for understanding populations, rare species, and species diversity in our area! In addition to competing in a fun tournament, you are benefiting biologists around the world with your scientific data!
