January 9 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Bald eagles are spotted regularly at Four Rivers Environmental Education Center! Join us on a crisp, guided hike and take part in both independent and guided outdoor family activities, while hopefully seeing some bald eagles! Learn fascinating facts about these incredible birds. A naturalist will point out where the eagles like to perch along the river, so you’ll have a better chance of seeing them again on your next visit! Hikes will be offered hourly at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. Registration required by Friday, January 8, by calling 815.722.9470 or online.
This event takes place outdoors; hikes will be offered hourly for groups of 25 people maximum. The hikes will be less than 1 mile and take place on paved paths and natural surfaces across uneven terrain. Also, be sure to dress for the weather and use caution while walking outdoors as snow and ice may be present on paths and in parking lots. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online. Please note: Masks are required for all in-person, indoor and outdoor program participants, with the exception of those younger than 2 years old and those with a medical condition or disability that prevents them from wearing one, per state guidelines.
