Darien Garden Club Route 66 Monarch Flyway: Meet the Butterflies

July 30 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Indian Prairie Public Library

Did you know that the Indian Prairie Public Library is located on the Route 66 Monarch Flyway? That means that we’re located on the migration path for monarch butterflies, which fly through Illinois as they migrate as far north as Canada and return to Mexico for the winter.

Drop in to meet Lori Harris from the Salt Creek Butterfly Farm and experience her Butterfly Flight Tent where you can observe and interact with live monarch butterflies. Learn more about monarchs and how you can add to the flyway to support them on their journey through Illinois. This event is hosted by the Darien Garden Club.

Outdoor program. This program is held outdoors. Weather permitting. Please note the library’s current mask policy at ippl.info/covid19. In the event of inclement weather, this program will move indoors to the meeting room.
